Tameside Catholic Schools Hockey Tournament 26th November 2024
Well done to our year 5 and 6 children who represented St. Peter’s in the Tameside Catholic Schools hockey tournament this week and thank you to the parents who braved the cold weather to come and support them.
Boys – Curzon Ashton
On Wednesday, some of our boys’ football team travelled to Curzon Ashton to take part in the National League Trust’s U11’s Cup, competing against teams from across the borough for the chance to play in the finals at Wembley Stadium.
Our boys had a fabulous morning and represented school with pride and respect, not to mention some amazing football too.
Sadly, our road to Wembley was short lived, but the boys should be very proud of the way they played and conducted themselves.
Football at Curzon Ashton
Our girls football team have had a busy week! On Tuesday we took part in a 5-a-side tournament at St Thomas Moore and on Wednesday our girls football team travelled to Curzon Ashton to take part in the National League Trust’s U11’s Cup. Our newly formed girl’s team were playing experienced teams from primary schools across Manchester. Our girls played with buckets of enthusiasm and smiles on their faces and, despite not winning any of our ties, the girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have come away with a new found love for football. We are very much looking forward to our girls continuing to train and grow in confidence throughout the school year.
