CONSULTATION ON SCHOOL ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS 2025/2026
St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School Stalybridge is carrying out a consultation on the proposed admission arrangements for admission in September 2025.
Admission arrangements are the overall procedure, practices and oversubscription criteria used in deciding the allocation of school places. The consultation is being carried out by the governing body.

The consultation opens on 1 December 2023 and closes on 14 January 2024.

Admission to School September 2024
Allocation of school places will be notified by Tameside Council Admissions department by email and letter by April 2024.

Closing date for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council online applications is 15th January 2024. Any late applications are to be referred to TMBC School Admissions 0161 342 4004.
Supplementary information as per the School Admission Policy should be forwarded to the school office no later than 15th January 2024. If preferred the evidence can be e-mailed: admin@st-peters.tameside.sch.uk
Open Days for School place – School visits will be carried out by the Headteacher in small groups. Please contact school to arrange a visit on one of the following dates:
5th October, 2023 at 9.30am
16th October, 2023 at 1.30pm
8th December, 2023 at 9.30am

Below are the dates for appealing a decision for September 2023 entry:

Primary | 17th April 2023 | 15th May 2023 | Within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals |
For late applications, appeals will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
For applications for in-year admissions, appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Registering your child for a Nursery and School place
If you wish to register your child at our Nursery / School, please contact the school office where the registration process will be explained. A copy of your child’s baptismal and birth certificate will be requested, for more information regarding the admissions criteria click on the current School’s Admission Policy above.

In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child to attend St. Peter’s at any time outside the usual admission round. The child will be admitted where there are available places. Applications should be made to Tameside Local Authority by clicking the following link: School Admissions (Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council)
Please read the information on this web page thoroughly. In-Year applications are co-ordinated by the Local Authority.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in our admissions policy above, will be applied.
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list by the Local Authority.
The Local Authority will advise you of the outcome of your application in writing. Should your application be declined, then you have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel.
